Vera Lee Alderson (English/Spanish 1955 &1956)

Vera-Lee Boughton, 79, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010.  A memorial service was held in the First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green.

Mrs. Boughton was born November 12, 1930 to the late James and Mayme (Hord) Alderson in Olney, Illinois. She married Charles R. Boughton June 4, 1956 in Illinois and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2001.

Vera-Lee is survived by her son, James of Ypsilanti, Michigan; three grandchildren: Kaitlyn Boughton and Jason and Keith Talley; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two siblings.

Vera-Lee was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green and Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her Master's Degree in Spanish from the University of Illinois. She taught Spanish I, II and English III at East Richland High School in Olney. Vera-Lee loved to read, play bridge, and do crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She also loved her dogs.
