Robert C. Terrell - Class Of 1985

Robert C. Terrell

Robert Carl Terrell Jr., 54, went to be with Jesus December 31st, 2021 in the UCLA Medical Center.

He is survived by his loving parents, Bob and Barbara Terrell of Thorsby, AL, grandmother, Rilla Crouch of Salem, IL and nephews Chase Owen of Memphis, TN, Reid Owen of Knoxville, TN and Trey Owen of Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Terrell Owen in 2006.

He made friends easily and had close friends all over the US and in Guatemala. Because of this, celebrations of life are being planned in his hometown of Olney, IL and Malibu, CA. His family plans to make a trip to Guatemala when possible to visit the people who captured his heart in 2015.

Rob was born January 26, 1967 in Carmi, IL. He was a 1985 graduate of Richland County High School, received a Bachelor of Arts from Valdosta State University and a Masters in Educational Administration from Pepperdine University.

He taught high school and coached in Georgia, Tennessee and California. He had a positive impact on his nephews, friends, students he taught and coached, co-workers and the children and families he befriended while building schools in Guatemala.

As a close friend said, “The world is a better place and I am a better person because of you.”

Donations can be made to his foundation, School in a Bottle Foundation, via Go Fund Me, to help continue his dream to educate children in the villages he fell in love with in Guatemala.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Rob at 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Kistler Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one-hour prior. Following the service, friends and family are invited to Joe’s Pizza in Olney for a meal and fellowship.
