Rose Hahn (Lueken)

Rose Ann Lueken, 48, of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, lost her valiant 13-year battle with cancer Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born Jan. 8, 1962, in Olney, Ill., the daughter of Ed and Connie (Kuhl) Hahn of Plant City, Fla.

Ann was an inspiration to everyone who faced difficult challenges in their lives as she faced hers with unbelievable strength and courage. She loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was the leader of Ann's Angels, a member of St. Peter Parish and its RCIA Education Group, the Speech Pathologist National Association and was a representative for Cancer Reach for Recovery.

Rose Ann received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern Illinois University.

She was a loving mother and devoted wife to her husband, Paul Lueken; her son, Adam Patrick Rose of Charlottesville, Va.; and her daughter, Lindsey Ann Lueken at home. Also surviving are her parents of Florida; her three sisters and their husbands, Janet (Greg) Payne of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Linda (Marty) Murphy of St. Louis, Mo., and Sharon (Kort) Dickson of Salisbury, Md.; her mother-in-law, Marilyn Lueken of Marshall, Ill.; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Nancy (Rick) Stepp of Marshall, Ill., and Becky (Todd) Stewart of Wilmette, Ill.; and two brothers-in-law and their wives, Ted (Lisa) Lueken of Dunlap, Ill., and Ben (Jeni) Lueken of Paris, Ill. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Arthur Lueken.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church, Main Street, Slippery Rock with Father Kevin Poecking officiating. Interment in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
