James Allan Lake, born July 2, 1945, lost his battle with congestive heart failure on July 3, 2003, in Houston.  He was 58 years old.

Allan is preceded in death by his father, James Albert Lake, and nephew, David Lake.  He is survived by his wife, Patty; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Dawn Kraft; grandchildren, Patricia and Davis Kraft; all of Houston.

Allan is also survived by his mother, Helen Lake; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Ted Dehmer; and brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Margaret Lake, all of Phoenix, Arizona;  as well as many nieces and nephews.  

Allan graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1967 and achieved Life Master Status in Bridge in 1991.  He was an avid sports fan (he especially loved the Cubs).  Allan enjoyed playing Bridge, fantasy sports, and strategic games.  He loved music and his pets.  

A memorial service was held Sunday, July 6, 2003, in the chapel of Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Richard M. Ward, Jr., officiating.  The family requested that contributions in Allan's memory be made to the American Heart Association.
