Phyllis R. Canning Miles, 70 of Tempe, Arizona died April 9, 1999. She was born January 22, 1929 in Marissa, Illinois and lived in Salem, Ill. from 1953-1971. Phyllis had taught English at Waldo Middle School; taught English and Speech at East Richland High School in 1951 and 1952 and was a retired McClintock High School English teacher.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Rae Kresse; sons, Kirk and Wally Miles and four grandchildren.
