Della Elizabeth Royse (Weiler)

The esteemed Della “Elizabeth” (Royse) Grubb Weiler, 93, of Olney met the face of Jesus Christ on September 3, 2015.  Graveside services at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont.

Elizabeth was born September 16, 1921 in Olney, a daughter of Virgil and Ada Royse.  She first married Roy Oscar Grubb who preceded her in death in 1969.  On June 11, 1972 she married Joseph Goudy Weiler who preceded her in death in 2002.

Mrs. Weiler was first a member of Blaine Christian Church and then Noble Methodist Church. She was on the Board of Trustees at Olney Trust Bank. She was a long-teim member of American Legion Auxiliary and President many times and a member of the Eastern Star and President several times and District Officer. She with her husband, they lead the 4-H club for many years in Noble, IL.

Elizabeth was a very active member of the Olney Garden Club, was President several times and a District President as well. She was a member and officer of several organizations, such as Home Extension.

Elizabeth is survived by two children, Carol Grubb and James Royse and wife, Kathy; step-daughter, Peggy Alptekin and husband, Cem of Istanbul, Turkey; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Berger (Dale); brothers, Carl Royse and Marion Royse and sister-in-law, Alma Royse; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; brothers, Rozell Royse and Ernest Royse and step-son, Michael Weiler in 1996.
