Harvey Shoemaker - Class Of 1941

HARVEY LEMUEL SHOEMAKER JR., 77, of Greenville, Ohio, formerly of Olney died Saturday December 5, 1998 at his home after a massive heart attack.  Burial in Sunset Memory Gardens in Greenville, Ohio.

Mr. Shoemaker attended schools in Richland County and Olney. He moved to Chicago with his parents in the early 1940's and enlisted in the Merchant Marines in 1943. He was stationed in Alaska and spent time in Seattle, Wash. before being discharged.

Mr. Shoemaker married Virginia Brewer in 1946.  He was employed by a car dealership in Greenville for 25 years. He managed a car dealership in Rossberg, Ohio for several years and owned three antique cars he kept in mint condition. He was a member of a Christian Church and lived his life so that people would remember that he had passed this way.

Mr. Shoemaker is survived by his wife of 52 years; one son, Jim and his wife, Debbie and two grandsons; three great-grandsons; two sisters, Veva Weiser and Freda R. Weddell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey L. Shoemaker Sr. and one brother, Kenneth G. Shoemaker.
