James Milton Maas

James Milton Maas, 85, of Logan, Ohio, passed away Jan. 18, 2009, at Arcadia Acres Nursing Home, Ilesboro, Ohio, after an extended illness.

Son of the late Omar Lenard and Kathryn (Fleming) Maas, he was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Olney, Ill. Mr. Maas had retired as a store manager for the former National Supply Company (formerly Armco Steel) of Logan and was a US Navy WW II veteran. He was also an avid woodworker and especially enjoyed the outdoors.

He is survived by his special companion, Carol Getter of Logan; one daughter, Melissa Leighann (James E.) Carter of Austin, Texas; sister, Julia Rooney of Alabama and eight grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Kent Alan Maas; daughter, Celia Sue Womack and beloved pet, Peaches.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Roberts Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.
