Alice Forsyth (Lindstrom)

Alice Fairlene Forsyth-Arends-Lindstrom, 92, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015, in Kingman, Arizona where she has been staying with her daughter and son in law, Forsythia and Robert Keller for the last two years.

She was born October 20, 1922 in Wheaton, Illinois, the daughter of Lamont Ripley Forsyth and Jessie Alice Torrens Forsyth of Olney, Illinois. She had three siblings, Robert Forsyth (deceased), Joy Forsyth-Davison, and Lamont B. Forsyth.

Alice graduated from O.T.H.S. in 1941, then went to Bradley Polytechnic Institute in Peoria, Illinois. She married James Louis Arends on October 4, 1946, in East Saint Louis, Illinois. They had two daughters, Jessie Alice (Chuck) Arends-Munz and Forsythia Ann (Bob) Arends-Keller. They moved to DeKalb, Illinois in 1961. Her husband, James worked in the oil fields. With his work they lived in North Dakota and Colorado before moving to DeKalb.

She worked at M. F. Malones as their bookkeeper for 25 years. After that she was a Sorority Mother for 2-3 years and then she went to work for K-Mart until she retired. Alice was a Sojourner of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She held the position of Worthy High Priestess for three years.

Knitting, reading and traveling were her hobbies, she was also a great fan of jazz. She spent her 80th  birthday traveling in Scotland with her daughter Forsythia.

Alice has 4 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one new great great granddaughter.

As per her request cremation will incur at Lietz-Fraze in Kingman, Arizona. May she rest in peace, she will be greatly missed by all.
