John Bob Conour

John Robert "Bob" Conour, 81, of Sterling, Colorado died Monday, December 8, 2003, in Sterling.   Burial  at Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Conour was born November 26, 1922, to John Marshall Conour and Mary Madaline (Ramsey) Conour in Olney, Illinois. On August 28, 1948, he married Lena Mae Price in Piggott, Arkansas. They lived in Mt. Carmel, Ill., from 1948 until they moved to Oakley, Kansas in 1951. They moved the following year to Sterling, and resided here since then.

Mr. Conour worked for Don Rounds Drilling Co., Exeter Drilling Co., Orbit Drilling and New Orbit Drilling. He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a member of the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by daughters Shirley Wetherill, of Pueblo, Roberta Jordan and husband Lee, of Colorado Springs, Connie Conour, and Mary Park and husband Dan, all of Sterling; sons John A. Conour and wife Karen, and James R. Conour and wife Chris, all of Sterling; grandchildren Tina Cox, Steve Degenhart, both of Pueblo, Michael Jordan, of Ogden, Utah, Chris Conour, Chanelle Conour, Laci Conour, Dustin Park and Haylee Jo Park, all of Sterling, Elizabeth Conour, of Greeley, and Jessica Conour, of Colorado Springs; and great-grandchildren Krystal Cox and Joshua Cox, both of Pueblo.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lena in August 2002.
