Mildred Jean Scranton Dawes, 85, of Mount Dora, passed away in Leesburg on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009.  At the request of Mrs. Dawes, there will be no services.

She was born October 20, 1923 in Olney, Ill., daughter of Ralph and Florence M. Hunt Cazel, and moved here in 1952 from Olney.

Mrs. Dawes was a nurse and had worked at local hospitals, she was a member of the Shiners Auxiliary and the Ladies of the Nile.

She is survived by her children: Larry L. (Gisela) Scranton of Deltona and Joyce (Bruce) Drazen of Altamonte Springs; six grandchildren, Michael Scranton, Stephanie Aubrey, David Drazen, Jennifer Williams, Tammy Gonzalez and Timothy Ritchey; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Drazen is also survived by her sister, Helen Mason of Tucson, Ariz.
