Vernon Elbert Cassady

Vernon "Hoppy" Cassady, 57, Ellettsville, Indiana and formerly of Olney, died Saturday, February 21, 1981 in Ellettsville.  Services in the Greene and Harrell Mortuary in Bloomington, In.  Burial in the Chambersville Cemetery in Owen County, In.

Mr. Cassady was born January 20, 1924 in Olney to Harry and Flo McWilliams Cassady. He married May Whitlock, and she survives.

He was owner of the Hoppy Electric Co. in Elettsville, a member of the Elks Club, VFW, American Legion, Moose, IEEW, and a World War II veteran.

Other survivors include two sons, Michael and Randy, both at home; three daughters, Delvenna Mae, Ellettsville, and Connie Foster and Carol Poindexter, both of Ft. Collins, Co.; four sisters, Pat Carroll, Lovington, Nixola Hamilton, Evansville, In., Virginia Collings, Oblong, and Peg Marshall, Newton; a brother, Vincent, Alton; and a half-brother, Douglas, Olney.

A son preceded him in death.
