Hazel Widger (Harvey)

Hazel Esther (Widger)  Harvey, 82, of Herscher, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 at her residence in Herscher. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service held at Herscher United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Private inurnment was in Pilot Cemetery.

Mrs. Harvey was a retired farmer. She was born June 4, 1922, in Geneseo, the daughter of Milton and Edna (Delp) Widger. Her parents are deceased.

Her husband, Elden C. "Mose" Harvey, whom she married July 5, 1941, in St. Charles, Mo., died Feb. 24, 2003.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, David and Judy Harvey of Kankakee; one daughter-in-law, Patricia (Richard) Howell of Bourbonnais; two sisters-in-law, Anna Harvey of California, Juanita Harvey of Decatur; three grandchildren, Stacey (Jim) Atkinson of Kankakee, Wade (Carrie) Harvey of Harvard, Neil (Jayme) Harvey of Port Orange, Fla.; five great-grandchildren, Tim and Ellie Atkinson, Kaity, Noah and Avery Harvey; and many nieces and nephews.

Two sons, Bruce and Daniel; and four sisters, Buelah Widger, Doris Cooper, Lola Smith and Mary Baker, are deceased.

Mrs. Harvey was past president and veterans chairperson of the Herscher American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed farming, camping, fishing and playing bridge.
