Ruth E. "Evelyn" Green, 78, of Olney, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Funeral services at Stasi-Grove Funeral Home with Reverend Don Watson officiating.  Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery south of Olney.

Mrs. Green was born on September 27, 1923, in rural Richland County, the daughter of Walter S. and Florence (Schonert) Whitaker. She married Norman Green on October 24, 1945, at First United Methodist in Olney. He survives.

She was a loving mother and housewife and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in rural Richland County.

Mrs. Green is survived by her husband, Norman Green, of Olney; two daughters, Karen Fulk and her husband, Thomas, of Olney, and Lisa VanEgmond and her husband, Dan, of Annapolis; a sister, Bernice Jennings, of Olney; nine grandchildren, Jenni Miller and her husband, Larry, Heather and Brandon Hixon, Jesse Brian, Jacob Lemeron, and Paige, Logan, Cortney and Drew VanEgmond; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Gray and Anna Marie Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Robert Wayne Green.
