Lois Marie (Wheeler) Cammon, 97, of Flora, formerly of Olney, died on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Heritage Woods, Flora, IL.  Lois was born on July 2, 1922 in Noble, IL, the daughter of Harry and Hester (Underwood) Wheeler.  She married Legion “Lee” Cammon on April 10, 1949 and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2010. 

Lois was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Olney where she taught Sunday School and was involved in several women's groups. She also worked side by side with her husband at Cammon's Red and White Supermarket on Whittle Avenue. Lois had also worked at AMF as Benefit Supervisor for many years. She was known for her kind heart and always willing to help others. Lois enjoyed having coffee with her friends. Her greatest joy after her children were raised was being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lois is survived by her son, Dale (Kate) Cammon of St. Louis, MO; son, Roger (Alicia) Cammon of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Kay (Chuck) Knapp of Xenia, IL; grandchildren, Jay (Kasey) Cammon, Gale (Randy) Jenkins, Jeff (Christina) Cammon, Betsy (Chris Fernandes) Cammon, Andrew Cammon, Margot Cammon, Jay (Becca) Fox, Liz (Ryan) Philbrick, Annie (Brad) Bardon, Justin Wood, Colin (Emily) Wood, Bryan (Ashley) Knapp, Cammon Knapp, Nicholas (Taylor) Knapp, and Hannah (Logan) Erbacher; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Lynn Wood; great granddaughter, Carly Knapp; brother, Robert Wheeler, and sisters, Virginia Grove and Mary Morris.

Memorials can be made to Clay County Hospice or Clay County Hospital Foundation.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow in Haven Hill Memorial Gardens. The family has requested a Private Family Burial. After the public funeral service concludes the family will depart for the graveside rites. Thank you.
