Dorothy E. Dean, 92, of Olney, passed away on January 2, 2014 at her residence.

Dorothy was born on November 29, 1921 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Sophia (Krumdick) Nicholas. She married George Dean on October 14, 1939 in St. Charles, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1986.

Dorothy worked at Hornback’s Grocery. She retired from Richland Memorial Hospital after working there for 19 years. Dorothy loved dancing and did so until only a few months before her death. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, a member of the NFS class and the First United Methodist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Janice Fuschak and husband Dan of Olney; Son, Tim Dean and wife Rhonda of Many, LA; Son, Todd Dean and wife Dallas of Olney; Daughter, Sandra Dean of Olney; Grandchildren, David Pool, Shari deWeese, Scott Robinson, Shanna Blackmon, Peggy Price, Gina Smith, Steve Myers, Jeff Dean, Brian Dean, Sarah Murray, and Shawn Dean; 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a half-brother, Fred Utz of Olney.

She was preceded in death her parents, stepfather, Charles Utz, husband, daughter, Barbara Myers, brother, Raymond Nicholas, half-sister, Patricia Utz, stepbrother, Gerald Utz and great grandson, Jonathon Pool.
