Letha Ivene Urfer, 90, of Olney, died Friday (Nov. 5, 2010) in Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney. Services in Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney, with the Rev. Jeremy Henson officiating. Burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Olney.

Letha was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Richland County, the daughter of Marshall Austin and Lucy VanMatre Montgomery.

She was a registered nurse and a 1942 graduate of Olney Sanitarium Nursing School. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and Retired Nurses Association of Olney. She married Elbert L. Urfer on April 14, 1946, in Olney. Letha and Elbert were resident of Decatur from 1956 to 1998.

Surviving are her husband; son, Loren Urfer and wife, Sue, of Olney; and grandson, Austin Urfer of Olney. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mildred Montgomery.
