Robert Herman Hughes, 57 of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, died in a local hospital on August 21, 1980. Robert was born March 25, 1922 in Olney son of Curtis G. and Mary F. (Aper) Hughes. He was the husband of the former Kay Berber of Bellows Falls, Vermont.

Besides his wife, Mr. Hughes leaves a step-son, Michael Rhodes, stationed with the U.S. Navy at Charleston and two grandchildren.
