Geraldine O. Fehrenbacher, 78, of Newton died Tuesday September 19, 2000 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson.  Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton with Father Joseph Molloy celebrating mass. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin.

Mrs. Fehrenbacher was born January 4, 1922 in Richland County, the daughter of  Joseph and Johanna (Nix) Hinterscher. She married Hull Fehrenbacher in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1994.

She was a homemaker and loving mother of seven children; was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton and the Altar Society and lived most of her adult life in Newton, with the last six years at Newton Rest Haven.

Mrs. Fehrenbacher is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Frieburg and her husband, Tom of Lisle and Susan Ryan and her husband, Joe of Edwardsville; two sons, Wayne Fehrenbacher and his wife, Debbie of Montrose and Dan Fehrenbacher and his wife, Janet of Newton; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, two daughters; one sister and one grandson.
