Edyth Marie Collins (Rosenlieb)

Edyth Marie (Collins) Rosenlieb, 95 of Emporia, Kansas, died on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia. Funeral services at Faith Lutheran Church, Emporia. Graveside services at Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in Claremont, Illinois.

Edyth was born on September 2, 1921 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond Clarence and Josephine Lowery Collins. She married Raymond “Ike” Rosenleib on April 18, 1941 in St. Charles, Missouri. He died on September 22, 1967 in Holyrood, Kansas. She worked as a cook at Alpha Sigma Alpha and as a waitress at the Mitway Café and Fred’s Derby. She also worked at Newman Memorial Hospital in food service. Edyth had a servant’s heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed.

Edyth was a member of the Americus First Southern Baptist Church and attended Faith Lutheran Church regularly

She is survived by daughters, Kathy Weidner (Charles) of Emporia, and Susan Zornes (Robert) of Kansas City, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn Sue O’Neal of Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Larry Ray Rosenlieb.
