Mary Elizabeth Clark (Furrie)

Mary Elizabeth Furrie, 87, Fort Worth, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009, at a local hospital. Graveside service in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville.

Mary was born Nov. 14, 1921, in Pasadena, Calif. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Vivian Clark of Olney, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, retired Air Force Col. Frank G. Furrie; and her youngest son, Michael Joseph Furrie. As a military wife she traveled extensively with her husband throughout the United States and internationally. She enjoyed many years as a nurse's aide with the Red Cross. She was a member of Genesis United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, Wedgwood Order of the Eastern Star and a life member of the American Legion.

Survivors: son, Francis G. Furrie of Fort Worth; daughter-in-law, Sissy Furrie; granddaughter, Charee and her husband, Jody Null; and great-granddaughters, Megan and Tatum Null; and very close and supportive companion (and very much appreciated by the Furrie family), retired U.S. Air Force Col. Robert Cooper.
