Alberta Mowrer, 62, Rt. 1, Claremont, died Wednesday September 12, 1984 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.  Services in Summers Funeral Home with burial in Antioch Cemetery southeast of Claremont.

Mrs. Mowrer was born August 10, 1922 in Richland County, the daughter of Clyde and Ruth (Monts) Blackford. She married Brucie Webber and he died October 27, 1954. She then married Richard Mowrer July 11, 1957 and he survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Robert Lee Webber and Arlie Allen Mowrer, both of Claremont; Richard Wayne Webber, Tulsa, Okla. and Christopher Mowrer, Canton; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Piper, Claremont; five brothers, James Blackford, Calhoun; Roy, Don and Larry Blackford, all of Olney; Wayne Blackford, chillicothe; a sister, Mary Wells, Calhoun; her mother, Mrs. Ruth Blackford, Olney; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, first husband and an infant brother.
