John Edward Wingert, 69, of Claremont, died Thursday, November 22, 2007, at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Graveside services at Haven Hill Memorial Garden in Olney with Pastor Steve Wingert officiating.

Mr. Wingert was born April 23, 1938, in Mills, Wyo., the son of Elmond Guy and Wilma (Taylor) Wingert.

He was a retired carpenter.

Mr. Wingert is survived by his mother, Wilma Wingert, of Claremont; son, John Eric Wingert, of Texas; fiancée, Shelia Nottingham, of Claremont; brothers, James "Jim" Wingert and his wife, Mary, of Olney, and Michael Wingert, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Betty Jo Neaville and her husband, Bobby Joe, of Pinckneyville; four nephews; and four great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.
