Violet L. Marks, 59, of Olney died Tuesday April 15, 1997 at her residence.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Humphrey officiating. Burial in Maple Dale Cemetery in Olney.

Marks was born August 25, 1937 in Vincennes, Ind. the daughter of Cecil Ray and Ethel L. (Rose) Read. She married William Marks June 8, 1957.

Marks was a foster parent for 33 years, worked at IGA, worked at Revco in the card department and was a member of Olney Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Vicki Montgomery and her husband, William of Olney, Julie Mines of Mason and Susan Block and her husband, Randy of Flora; one step-brother, Ray Read of Kinmundy; two sisters, Margie Snider of Vincennes, Ind. and Joana Armstrong of Jasper, Ind. and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one foster son, Eric.
