Bernard G. "Bernie" Pottorff, 65, of Sun City, Ariz. formerly of Wakefield area, died January 5, 2004, at Arrowhead Community Hospital in Glendale, Arizona.

Mr. Pottorff was born on April 7, 1938, in Wakefield, the son of I. V. and Evelyn Marie Schnautz Pottorff. He married Donna Sue Elliott on August 2, 1957. She survives.

He worked for Union Oil for 33 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran.

Mr. Pottorff is survived by his wife; two daughters, Deborah McLaughlin and Terri D. Stephan; his father; two brothers, Ivan L. and Don Pottorff; and three grandchildren, Leigh Ann Bendig, Brian Bendig, and Jacob Andrew Stephan.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services were at the Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with burial in Liberty Cemetery in Wakefield, IL.
