Margaret Eyer (Ricketts) - Class Of 1956

Margaret Eyer (Ricketts)

Margaret Eyer Ricketts Class of 1956Margaret “Meg” Ellen (Eyer) Ricketts, 77, was born in Olney, Illinois, to James Owen and Blanche Eyer on January 19, 1939, and sadly passed away on February 3, 2016, in Danbury, Connecticut.

Meg was a kind and soft-spoken woman, who is remembered as a loving soul and deeply spiritual woman who never said an unkind word of another and who emanated personal warmth. She was a creative lady whose love of working with fabric was widely known; an expert seamstress and quilter, also capable of everything from reupholstering furniture to making tiny clothing for Barbie dolls. Even after moving to Connecticut in her late 20s, Meg carried her Midwestern values with her. She had a passion for tending the earth and cultivated amazing flower gardens, and grew and canned her own fruits and vegetables. She earned a B.A. in psychology later in life after raising her children, was committed to her own spiritual evolution and was an avid astrologer. She considered herself a lifelong student in that regard, and viewed our human experience from a wider perspective within the cosmos.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 32 years, Edmund, with whom she shared a love of gardening and a quiet life. She is survived by siblings, Donna, Sam, Glenn, Lila, Mike and Marlene; three children, two daughters and a son, Armenouhi, of Danbury, Conn.; Vartouhi, of Brookfield, Conn.; and Vartan, of Concord, Calif.; three grandchildren, Kyle, Ysabelle and Sophia; and stepdaughters, Barbara, Carla and April.

Her family and loyal circle of friends will miss her immensely, but are grateful that she touched their lives.
