Ronald Howard Buckels, 83, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Linda E. White Hospice Facility in Evansville, Indiana. Ronald was born February 24, 1939 in Olney, the son of Howard and Vera (Howey) Buckels. He married Violet Fulk on October 19, 1999 in Olney, and she survives.

Ronald loved to feed the birds and squirrels in his yard while he sat watched with his K-9 companion, Patches. He was incredibly loving and generous, and he would give the shirt off of his back to those in need. Ronald loved to spend time with his family, especially his brothers. He will be dearly missed by those that knew him.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Violet Buckels; daughter, Mary Askren and her husband Russell of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Aaren and Konner Askren; brother, Joe Buckels and his wife Nancy of Evansville, IN; step-daughter, Jolene Perry of Villa Grove, IL and step-son, Doug Raymer and his wife Cathy of Camargo, IL and several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Pauline Buckels, and brothers, Darrell and Merle Buckels.

A graveside service for Ronald will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney, with Pastor Todd Bettis officiating.

Full Military Rites will be performed at the graveside. Internment will immediately follow the services.
