Harold E. Ahlfield, 52, of Murphysboro, Illinois, formerly of Olney, died Tuesday March 19, 1991 in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.

Mr. Ahlfield was director of plant operations for St. Joseph Hospital. He was a member of the Murphysboro Rotary Club. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years.

He was born October 17, 1938 in Parkersburg, Illinois to Sherman Harold Ahlfield and Virginia Georgia (Berryhill) Ahlfield. He married Carol Oma Price on February 3, 1962. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, David, Louisville; Kevin and Clayton, both of Murphysboro; mother, Virginia Anderson, Olney; brother, Stanley Clarksville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his father.
