Della M. Ahlfield (King)

Della M. King, 77, of Olney, formerly of Dundas, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. Services in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Burial in Maple Dale Cemetery in Olney with Reverend Gary Wachtel officiating.

Della was born on February 2, 1938 in Olney the daughter of Jerome and Mary (Jackson) Ahlfield. She later married Edward King on April 6, 1956 in Olney. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2011.

She was a housewife for many years and worked at the garment factory in Olney. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, sewing clothes for herself and her family, doing ceramics, knitting and decorating t-shirts. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Olney. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Della is survived by her three daughters, Ruth Morgan, and husband David of Olney, Sharon Honeycutt, and husband John of Casey and Teresa Foster, and husband Jim of Dundas; father Jerome Ahlfield; two brothers, Lee Ahlfield, and wife Donna of Oklahoma and John Ahlfield, and wife Barbara of Georgia; sister Julia Colwell, of Newton; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edward King and mother Mary Ahlfield.

To my cousin, Della- I always admired your sewing abilities.  Your enthusiasm for life was great.  Even though I was quite a bit younger, I enjoyed spending time with you. Prayers for your family.
