She was one of my favorite teachers and truly a mentor helping in my decision to pursue a teaching career in Physical Education.  Sadly, that vision never materialized but she, and Dolly and "Mac" McFarland, were the motivation behind my college success.  You left us way too young.

Doris Mounts was a good PE teacher and althought PE wasn't one of my favorite subjects she made it fun and as interesting as any PE teacher could I do believe.  I also feel she left this world to soon and am sorry we were not able to invite her to our class reunions to visit along with some of our other teachers that we had through out our high-school years!  She was a kind and good person and teacher.

Sad to hear. Of course we all know our teachers don't live forever, yet somehow they do in our minds. And I think she is the one I remember most. She was brusque, matter of fact, but very clear with what she taught, and I believve very caring without being demonstrative. I was never very good at PE, but I worked hard because she kept inspiring me. And I do believe she concocted the "Best Posture" award because she knew I'd never win anything else. Some of the lessons she taugh became basic tenets for me in my daily routine.Sorry to see she died so young.
