Marshall E. Provines, 89, of Olney, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.  Burial in Shiloh Cemetery #1 in rural Claremont.

Mr. Provines was born on March 16, 1921, the son of Forrest Maywood and Blanche Alice (Berry) Provines.

He was a retired teacher and assistant principal. He was a member of Eureka Church of Christ. He was a member of American Legion, a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Retired Teachers Association.

Mr. Provines is survived by his sister, Dorothy Fern Provines, of Olney; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
