Bernice (Whitaker) Jennings, 93, of Olney, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery south of Olney.

Bernice was born August 29, 1921 in Richland County, Illinois, the daughter of Walter S. and Florence (Schonert) Whitaker.  She married Paul L. Jennings on December 26, 1941 in Calhoun, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on October 30, 2000.

Bernice graduated Olney High School in 1937 (sic) and was a lifetime member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.  She was very active in her family farm operation.  Bernice was also active in various community organizations.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Frank) Garner of Olney; son, Jack Jennings of Olney; son, Jerry (Paula) Jennings of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Gary (Jenny) Garner, Greg (Tina) Garner, Robert Jennings, Roger (Valerie) Jennings, Dr. Ryan (Sara) Jennings, Rebekah Howser, Stacy (Brandon) Williams, and Makenzie Jennings; several great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jean Jennings, Maxine Kurtz, Nadine Baker, and Nola Mae Sager; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Beverly Jennings, and sister, Evelyn Green.
