Earl Runyon

Earl W. Runyon, 75, of Wood River, died Saturday, March 12, 1994, in his home  Funeral services at the First Baptist Church of East Alton with Rev. Jack L. Brown officiating. Burial in the Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Runyon was born Sept. 15, 1918, in Olney, the son of George and Gwendolyn (Totten) Runyon. He married Frances Hall on Sept. 27, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo.

He was a retired operator at the Shell Oil Refinery. He was a member of the Roxana Senior Citizens Group and Golden Aires Club.

He is survived by his wife, of Wood River; a daughter and son-in-law, Lois "Cheryl" and Gary Schmitz of Boulder, Colo. and a grandson, Ryan Earl Schmitz.

Runyon was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar and George Runyon and a sister, Catherine Brown.
