Homer E. Reed, 58, of 120 E. South Ave., Olney died Thursday, August 3, 1978 at Richland Memorial Hospital. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

He was born in Richland County, March 17, 1920, son of Lee and Mary Farris Reed. On May 29, 1940, he married Helen Ridgely.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Fears, Muncie, Ind. and Mrs. Floyd (Barbara) Williams, Calhoun; a brother, Clarence Reed; two sisters, Mrs. Neva Rankin and Mrs. Frances Kirk; two grandchildren.

He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) was an elder, past deacon and supt. of the Sunday School; a member of Richland Lodge 180, IOOF, and Richland Post #30, American Legion.

Mr. Reed was employed for 38 years with the Kroger Company.
