Marjorie D. Nix, 91, of Olney, died at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Home in Effingham.  Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney with Reverend Father Jerry Wirth officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Olney.

Marjorie was born April 29, 1921, in Richland County, the daughter of Leo Joseph Dehlinger and Louise Marie Fiock. She married Leo George Nix on November 22, 1947, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1993.

She grew up on a farm in Preston Township and graduated from Olney Township High School in 1939. She then graduated from Sanford Brown Business College in St. Louis, Mo. She worked as a stenographer. She last worked at Country Mutual Insurance Company and retired after 35 years of service. Marjorie loved reading, poetry, painting and her cats. She was the founding member of Tops Club IL 1374 and a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Tom and wife, Joyce Nix, of Olney; son, Frank and wife, Joanie Nix, of Jasper, Ala.; son, Brad and wife, Joanna Nix, of Olney; daughter, Beverly Thoele and husband, Don, of Effingham; daughter, Ramona Suba and husband, Mike, of Winnemucca, Nev.; daughter, Phyllis Kiefer and husband, John, of Franklin, Ky.; daughter, Marita Boyce and husband John, of Wildwood, Mo.; daughter, Teresa Fincher and husband, Ken, of Elburn; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Louise Dehlinger; husband, Leo George Nix; brother, Alvin Dehlinger; one infant son, David; and son, Ron Nix.
