Donald Burgener, 18 - year-old graduate of the 1939 class of the Olney high school, passed away at the home of his parents in Claremont township early Wednesday morning August 23, 1939, following a three weeks illness from typhoid-pneumonia.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the St. James Lutheran Church  with Rev. Mendenhall in charge. Interment was at the St. James cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Burgener, two brothers, Elbert, of Olney, and Loren, of  Gary, Ind., and three sisters, Miss LaVerne Burgener, at home; Mrs, Elza Scherer, of Claremont, and Mrs. Vernon Wilson, of Olney.
