GRANBURY - Earl Stanley Blakney,72, a partner in the construction firm of Brown & Blakney Inc. of Fort Worth, died Monday, December 20, 1993 at a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Granbury, where he was a member. Burial in Capitol Memorial Parks in Austin.

Mr. Blakney, a native of Olney, Ill., had served as trustee, treasurer and chairman of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He served with the Texas Highway Association of General Contractors. He was chairman and member of the board of directors for two years; for three years, he was a member of various committees of the National Association of General Contractors.He was president of the North Texas Lung Association, past president of the American Association of Retired Persons, a member of the Concordia Lutheran College Council, member of the Granbury Optimist Club and a member of the Chamber of Commerce. He received the Wrangler Award from the Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, Elinor Stelzer Blakney of Granbury; two sons, Richard Douglas Blakney of Granbury and John Stanley Blakney of Fort Collins, Colo.; two daughters, Sandra Lee Reitman of Round Rock and Bonnie Sue Hahn of Leander; brother, Levi Watson Blakney of Fort Worth; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
