Judy Heindselman Hawley, 60 died Friday, December 5, 2008, in Surfside Beach, S.C., after a courageous, 16 year battle with breast cancer.

Judy was born April 24, 1948, in Olney, the daughter of Paul (Spot) and Mary (Rash) Heindselman. She married Nick Hawley, of Rockford, in November 1993.

Judy is survived by her husband, Nick; four much-beloved stepchildren and 11 grandchildren; sister; Rita Batek and her husband, Dave, of Glen Ellyn; brother-in-law , Mike MacGilvray, of Atlanta, Ga.; nephews, Jeff MacGilvray and his wife, Rene, of Augusta, Ga., Chris MacGilvray and his wife, Becca, of Louisville, Ky., and Kent Rayhill and his wife, Cathay, of Evanston; and aunt, Mabel Ridgely, of Olney.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kay MacGilvray.
