.jpg) Louella M. (Ditch) Kortge, 73, of West Salem, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Louella was born on June 28, 1948 in Richland County, IL, the daughter of Everett and Alleen (Paddick) Ditch. She married John Kortge on February 24, 1968 in Olney, IL.
Louella had a heart of gold and always put others needs before her own. Her world revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren. Louella worked at Champ Labs for 44 years and was a member of the Moravian Church in West Salem.
Louella Kortge is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Kortge of West Salem; daughter, Cassie (Steve) Gardner of Olney; and grandchildren, Caleb and Shelby Gardner of Olney.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services held at the Moravian Church in West Salem, IL with interment folloeing in the Moravian Church Cemetery.

I am so sad to hear of Louelle's passing. I met Louella in 2nd grade and we remained friends throughout highschool. I used to go out to their farm and her mom made the best fried chicken in the world. To this day I can still remember how great it always tasted.
Louella was always the smiling face at all of the reunions since we graduated. She id not know a stranger. I can't imagine her not being there at our next reunion. I will miss her.
Rest In Peace Louella. I love you my friend.
