Teresa L. (Cummins) Current, 75, of Decatur, Illinois passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Teresa was born on August 13, 1948, in Olney, IL, a daughter of Joseph and Vera (Miller) Cummins.

Teresa worked for the Department of Children and Family Services at the State of Illinois for many years before retiring. Teresa married Richard A. Current on June 11, 1983, in Decatur, IL.

Surviving is her husband, Richard of Decatur; children: Amy Waks and Jason Waks of Decatur; grandchildren: Sean Waks and Dillon Waks; sisters: Marcella (Bob) Zorn of MI, JoAnne (Randy) Schumacker of AL, and Jan (Joe) Batchelor of Carbondale; several nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends; beloved dog Charlie.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Sean Cummins.

Private family entombment will take place at the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery. Donations in Teresa’s memory may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
