John Corwin Sensney, 76, of Olney, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at his residence.  John was born December 28, 1946 in Olney, the son of Corwin H. "Jack" and Effie F. (Richardson) Sensney. He married Barbara J. Saltsman on September 17, 1972 at the Prairieton Church in Claremont, Illinois. Barbara preceded him in death on July 3, 2013.

John was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olney for many years. He was also a US Navy military veteran and served on the USS Enterprise during the Vietnam era. John enjoyed helping his nephews with their farm. He took pleasure in hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. John was an excellent craftsman and could fix most anything. He loved his family and his dog, Coco. After the passing of his wife, Barb, Coco and John were inseparable.

John is survived by his daughter, Shari Frank, and husband Sam of Clay City; son, Tim Sensney, and wife Brandy of Olney, step-son, Mike Cook and wife Christina of Ingraham; grandchildren, Elizabeth Cook, Skylar and Sierra Frank, and Ben, Timmy, Savannah and Aiden Sensney; great grandchildren; sisters, Connie Fritchle of Olney and Jolene (Dick) Lathrop of Claremont; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Sensney; brother-in-laws, Ronnie Hodgkins and Joe Fristchle; and special nephew, Jeff Fritschle.

A funeral service for John will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Park. Full Military Rites will be performed at the graveside
