Rhonda Jean Meers, 38, of Kansas City, MO, died Wednesday, August 5, 1998, at her home.

Meers was born November 16, 1959, in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of John David and Norma Jean Walters.

She married Samuel Arthur Meers June 26, 1982, in Olney, IL.

She was the valedictorian of her graduating class at East Richland High School and a graduate of Indiana State University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting. She was on the Mortar Board at Indiana State University and a past board member of the Camp Fire Girls. She was a CPA, member of Missouri and Indiana Societies of CPA's, and was a financial planning manager for Hallmark Cards, Inc. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, where she was chair of the church council.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel A. Meers; one daughter, Katherine Ellen Meers, at home; and parents, of Gladstone, MO.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Joseph Meers.
