Gary Wayne Morgan, 63, of Carbondale, formerly of Olney, passed away on February 10, 2015 at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Gary was born May 18, 1951 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Louis and Juanita (Burgener) Morgan.

Gary enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed the Wednesday golf outings with his dear friends. He was an SIU Saluki basketball fan and held season tickets. Gary was a member of the Makanda Masonic Lodge. Gary was a kind and gentle soul and would put everyone's needs before his own. He had a great sense of humor. Gary loved his family and friends and the time spent with everyone at frequent gatherings. Although Gary had no children of his own he was a father figure to many children. He will be sorely missed by all those that knew him. There will never be another Gary Morgan.

He is survived by his brother, Louis Morgan Jr and wife Janice of Carbondale, IL; sisters, Georgia Morgan-Flannery of Collinsville, IL,  Wilma Susan Morgan-Gleason of Belleville, IL,  Pamela Morgan-Summerfield and husband Mike of West Salem, IL and brother, George David Morgan of Carterville, IL; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews  and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Brother Gavin Bellinger officiating.  Masonic services before service.  Burial in North Freedom Cemetery north of Noble.
