David William Hubble, 62, of Olney, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014.

David was born March 21, 1951, in Olney, the son of Burt and Betty Hubble. He was a brother to three sisters, Patricia Hanks, of Rockford, Mary Hubble-Tibbs, of Noble, and Jean Brown, of Tucson, Ariz.

David was a star athlete at East Richland High School and graduated in 1969. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree in Forestry from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale in 1973. David spent most of his adult life in North Carolina before his career took him to the southwestern United States, and ultimately Hobbs, New Mexico, where he succumbed to cancer.

David was a humble and reserved man who knew the value of hard work. But those who knew him best knew a man filled with compassion. He was a loving father who was adored by his children. He appreciated a funny joke and a good laugh. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending his time outdoors. David was a man to be admired for his resolve and charming nature.

He is survived by three children, Brandon Hubble, of Minot, N.D., Austin Hubble, of Austin, Ga., and Casey Houchin, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
