Fay Dowds McCray Class of 1969Faye Ann McCray, 65 of Owensville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016, at home. Funeral services at Goodwin Funeral Home in Vincennes, Ind. Burial in Wheatland Cemetery.

Mrs. McCray was born on January 21, 1951, in Olney, the daughter of Edgar and Elizabeth Dowds.

Faye was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vincennes and a life member of the Vincennes VFW Auxiliary. She had been previously employed at Florsheim Shoe Factory in Olney, AMF/Roadmaster in Olney, Vincennes University, and Toyota Production in Princeton, Ind.

Faye most loved being with her grandchildren during holidays and sitting on her river-cabin patio with her friends. She loved Elvis, playing on the computer, making people feel special, and spending time with her family. She was always uplifting and cheerful even in sickness and death.

Mrs. McCray survived by her husband of 28 years, Lee W. McCray, of Owensville, Ind.; daughter, Debbie (Scott) and husband Scott Utt, of Oaktown, Ind.; daughter, Brandy (Scott) and husband Jeff Candler, of Vincennes, Ind.; son, Kelvin McCray; daughter, Kristina Besing and her husband Jeff; son, Kurtis McCray; daughter, Kendra McCray; grandchildren, Chelsey Pembleton, Kirstey Pembleton, Briley Utt, Dakota Candler, Mia Candler, Brandon Carpenter, Justin Carpenter, Gavin Besing, and Zoe McCray; brothers, Floyd and Marjorie Dowds, of Opdyke, and Joe “Archie” Dowds of Olney; sisters, Iva Harmon, of Olney, and Martha Morris of West Liberty; and sister-in-Law, Ena Jo Pembleton, of Bridgeport.

She was preceded in death by her parent, infant son, Michael Lee Scott, and husband, Bobby Scott, of Olney.
