Linda Diane Teel, 62, of Chatham, died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield after a bout with cancer.

Funeral services at the Staab Funeral Home  in Springfield  with Pastor Rex Crossland officiating. Burial  in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Linda was born May 11, 1950, in Mattoon, to James F. and Kathryn Forcum Rue. She married her childhood sweetheart, George Robert “Bob” Teel, on August 22, 1970. He survives.

She was a resident of Chatham and a member of Clear Lake Church of Christ. Her greatest joy in life was being Oma to her granddaughters, Kate and Amelia.

Linda is survived by her husband, Bob; a daughter, Jeni (Jonathan) Sperry, of Chatham; a son, Bradley R. (Jennifer) Teel, of Springfield; two grandchildren, Kate and Amelia Sperry; a brother, Randal (Tammie) Rue, of Sherman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Kathryn Rue.
