William Withrow

William (Bill) Withrow Jr. 68, of Peru, Indiana, passed away at home on March 14, 2016 following a lengthy illness. He was born March 15, 1948 in Olney, Illinois to William and Rita Withrow. He was a graduate of East Richland High School in 1967.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen of 47 years; his two loving daughters and husbands, Mark and Machelle (Withrow) Crowley and Nick and Meghan (Withrow) Green. Also, his three grandchildren, Malarye Crowley, 13 yrs, Lucas Green 3 yrs and Landon Green 5 months. They were not just his grandchildren, but his best friends and prides of joy. He is also survived by his one sister, Sandra Gimmey, and two brothers, Ralph Stoddard and Jack Nestle. Also last but not least, his 3 little furry best friends, Benson, Tanar and Hanah.

Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1967 until 1972. He then worked at Baber Motor Supply for several years. In 1984, he joined civil service at Grissom Air Force base in Supply and worked there until his retirement in 2008.

Bill was well known and loved by many. His favorite hobbies and loves of his life were his family and being with them. He loved going to his granddaughters’ band competitions, sprint and NASCAR races, baseball games and watching IU and Pacer basketball games. He also loved hunting, fishing and most of all, riding his Harley.

Funeral services at Zion Chapel Church in Peru, with Pastors Rod Correll, George Dinkel, and Lew McKinney officiating.
