Stephen Thomas Stark, 52, of Olney, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2002 at his residence after a bout with cancer. Funeral mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Olney with Reverend Father Jerry Wirth officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney.

Mr. Stark was born on August 12, 1949 in Richland County, the son of Elmer and Dorothy (Kistner) Stark. He married Susan Joan Resor on March 30, 1973. She survives.

He was employed with First National Bank in Olney for 28 1/2 years, where he held the positions of cashier, assistant vice president and Noble branch manager. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lions Club with 28 years of service, served 17 years as member of Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of Richland County. He also served on the Police Pension Board and six years as board member of the Opportunity Center in Olney.

Mr. Stark is survived by his wife, Susan Stark of Olney; two sons, Matthew Stark of Murphysboro and Thomas Stark at home; one sister, Joan Uhl and her husband, Robert of Olney; and one brother, John Stark and his wife, Mary of Olney.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law, Mary (Drewes) Stark.
