Frank Slichenmyer, 73, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Frank was born October 7, 1949 in Olney, the son of Earl Edward and Mary Kathleen (Rotramel) Slichenmyer. He married Mary “Joan” Ingersoll on April 17, 1971 in Olney, and she survives.

Frank was a lifelong farmer who loved what he did for a living. He enjoyed being around family, playing cards and attending cook-outs. Frank loved nature and bird watching and took pleasure in feeding the hummingbirds. He enjoyed traveling to Florida every Thanksgiving with his wife and visiting their daughter, Amy. Frank's sense of humor and laughter will be missed by his close friends and family.

Frank is survived by his wife; son, Michael (Val) Slichenmyer De Souza; daughter, Amy Smith; sister, Shirley (Dick) Kessler; brother, Lawrence Slichenmyer and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father in-law, Ed and Adenia Ingersoll.

A visitation for Frank will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.  A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.

The family requests visitors to dress casual for both visitation and memorial service.
