Jerry Hutchings, 58, of Parkersburg, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at his residence after a bout with cancer.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Minister Carson Root officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg. Military rites performed at the graveside.

Mr. Hutchings was born December 7, 1948, in Richland County, the son of Dennis L. and Ella Jane (Kinkade) Hutchings. He married Nancy Clodfelter on March 8, 1968, at Moravian Church in West Salem.

He was a truck driver. He was a U.S. Army Military Police veteran and Sentry Dog Handler. He was a member of the Vietnam Dog Handlers Association and American Legion.

Mr. Hutchings is survived by his wife, Nancy (Clodfelter) Hutchings, of Parkersburg; son, Kirk Hutchings and his wife, Jodi, of Parkersburg; granddaughter, Jordyn Hutchings; grandson, Tristyn Hutchings; and brother, Steve Hutchings, of Salem.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Dorothy "Dottie" Hutchings.
